Where can osteopathy be of support?

Osteopathy can be used in all medical areas where functional disorders are the cause of complaints. It can be used as the only form of treatment and can be sufficient, but an interdisciplinary or accompanying use of other medical treatments is possible and sometimes necessary and always desirable. This applies, for example, to serious pathologies or structural disorders. For this reason, it is important that the patient explains his or her health situation to the therapist as precisely as possible. Only then can it be guaranteed that the therapist can discuss with the patient whether osteopathy is a suitable form of treatment or whether another point of contact would be more suitable for the patient.

Possible areas of application:

Osteopathy can be used in many areas of medicine, especially where functional disorders are the cause of complaints. It can be effective both as a stand-alone treatment and as a complementary measure to existing therapy plans. Osteopathy supports the body's natural healing processes by promoting self-healing powers and the ability to self-regulate. Through targeted techniques, dysfunctions can be corrected and inner balance restored, which can improve health and well-being.

However, it is important to note that osteopathy has its limitations. Especially in cases of serious illnesses or structural problems, it should ideally be used in combination with other medical treatments. Comprehensive communication between patient and therapist is crucial to find the most appropriate treatment strategy and to ensure that all health aspects are taken into account.

Legal notice:
The mention of possible areas of application does not represent a promise of healing and does not guarantee relief or improvement of the complaints listed. Osteopathy should never be considered a substitute for medical advice or treatment. In the event of health problems, it is essential to consult a doctor.

In addition, it is important that the osteopath you are seeing has completed thorough, high-quality training at a recognized training institution. The training should meet the standards of professional associations and the European standard (EN-16686:2015) to ensure that the therapist has the necessary qualifications to provide safe and effective treatment.
